Coach Schwartz Mini-Bio:
My name is Kimberly Schwartz and I am so excited to be the Game Cheerleading Coach this season. This is my second year coaching, but previously I cheered Game and Competition throughout high school, and all star Competition as well. I graduated from Georgia Southern in December of 2021 and started teaching at Springfield Elementary School in 2022. I am currently teaching at Rincon Elementary. I grew up in Effingham and graduated from South Effingham High School in 2018. Outside of school and coaching, you can find me reading a book and hanging out with my new puppy, Willow.
This season is going to be great and I cannot wait to see all of the girls shine.
Go Rebels!

1st Annual ECHS Game Day Invitational
February 11, 2023
This year, ECHS Game Cheer was thrilled to be able to host the 1st Annual ECHS Game Day Invitational. With the world of Game Day cheer quickly growing, this was an amazing opportunity for the Game Cheer Program at Effingham County High School. Game Day competitions are unique because they allow Game Cheerleaders to showcase their specific skills to a panel of judges. Each squad prepares a Band Dance, Situational Cheer, Crowd Leading Cheer, and their Fight Song Dance. Added into the mix are crowd-leading materials like signs, megaphones, and flags.
Previously, the only competition of this sort was the GHSA State Competition held in the Winter. Slowly though, as the world of Game Day has grown, schools have started hosting their own competitions to allow other schools to have their routine judged leading up to State. ECHS Game Cheer was fortunate enough to join in the fun and hosted 6 schools at the ECHS Game Day Invitational.
Each school in attendance performed beautiful routines, but the following schools reigned supreme:
2A Winner: Toombs County High School
3A Winner: Mary Persons High School
6A/7A Winner: South Effingham High School
South Effingham High School also took home the awards for Highest Band Dance Score, Highest Crowd Leading Cheer Score, and Highest Fight Song Dance Score. They were also named Grand Champions of the entire competition!
Congratulations to our winners!
We hope to see even more schools next year!
