Our Mission
Our mission is to build leadership skills in our students while encouraging them to discover the power of "Service over Self." Our members are always searching for more ways we can serve our community. Our goal is for our members to become more responsible, productive members of our local and national community through service to others.
We encourage our members to participate in numerous service projects throughout the school year. Our members participate in the following activities each year:
- Volunteer at the Fillin' Station Food Pantry (open two days per week 10am-1pm at the old middle school on hwy. 119)
- Make knotted blankets for the homeless
- Organize and carry out activities during Red Ribbon Week (October 23-31 each year)
- Organize and carry out activities benefiting CURE Childhood Cancer
- Attend Rotary Breakfasts with our local Rotary Club (2 per semester per member ideally)
- The annual Trunk or Treat held at ECHS
- Effingham Day at the Capitol
Other events that members of the Interact Club have sponsored or been involved with in past years include:
- A humanitarian aid drive to benefit the people of Ukraine in conjunction with Savannah Supports Ukraine
- A shoe drive during the 2022-2023 school year and one during the 2023-2024 school year to benefit the people of Haiti
- Assisting the Effingham County Chamber of Commerce with a Spring Fling in Springfield
- Reading to elementary school students
