2025-2026 Teacher of the Year Alexis Osment
Alexis Osment is a dedicated high school science educator at Effingham County High School. Mrs. Osment holds a Bachelor of Science in athletic training from Mars Hill University, a Master of Science in exercise science with a concentration in health and fitness promotion from Georgia State University, a Master of Arts in Teaching with a concentration in broadfield science from the University of West Georgia, and an Educational Specialist degree in secondary education with a concentration in broadfield science, also from the University of West Georgia. She additionally holds a Tier One Educational Leadership Certification from the University of West Georgia and an in-field gifted endorsement. Mrs. Osment has been teaching since 2016 and came to ECHS at the start of the 2021-2022 school year.
In the classroom, Mrs. Osment is committed to increasing equity, fostering social-emotional learning, and building positive relationships with all students. Her pedagogical priorities include equipping students with the essential skills they need to succeed in the real world, while ensuring an inclusive and supportive learning environment. Mrs. Osment encourages critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving, all while preparing her students for the future. She strives to be an educator who not only imparts knowledge but also helps her students develop life skills that will help support their success beyond the classroom.
